We have some wine left for a while now, and I don’t know what to do with it (except drinking it obviously, but I am not into a wine mood recently). The web is my best friend; a few clicks and here are some nice ideas on how not to waste my wine!

Ingredients for 4 portions:

  • 400 g of strawberries
  • 300 ml of red wine
  • 60 g of sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla sugar
  • 1 orange zest
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

Times:

  • Preparation: 10 mins
  • Cooking: none
  • Rest: none

1- Wash the strawberries, cut them in 2 or 4, and spread into 4 bowls or glasses.

2- Pour the wine into a small pan with the sugar and the cinnamon over medium heat, while stirring gently from time to time.

3- As soon as it starts to boil, hold a lit match near the sauce to ignite it for about 20 seconds, then remove from the heat (don’t let the wine boil for too long before you lit it, otherwise there would be no more alcohol to lit 😛 ).

4- Pour the hot wine on the strawberries, sprinkle evenly the orange zest into the four bowls and stir a little bit to infuse it. I like this dessert either warm or hot, served in a glass of wine for a better visual effect.

Bonjour Aurélie, je te comprends pour ce qui est des bouteilles de vin entamées dont on ne sait plus quoi faire ! J’aime bien cette recette pour la même raison 🙂
